Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras
Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras (CKYO) provides equitable access to high-quality musical opportunities for young musicians, fostering a lifelong love of music. Through a dynamic curriculum and strategic community partnerships, CKYO nurtures musical excellence at every level. Founded in 1947, CKYO is one of the oldest youth orchestras in the U.S., serving over 500 students from 15 counties and 55 schools each week. With seven performing ensembles and two community programs—Friends in Music and MusicWorks—CKYO promotes artistic growth and ensures access to music education for all, enriching lives through the power of music.
